Having been a paying client myself I understand the concerns and anxieties of people looking for a counsellor.  You probably have questions about how we would work together. Once you contact me I will offer you a short telephone call to discuss any queries you may have and you can see how it feels to talk to me. Alternatively, you may prefer to have this conversation by email or text, so please let me know if this is the case when you contact me. We will then arrange a first appointment.

Our first session is an opportunity for you to tell me about what is troubling you, and for us to get to know each other. You can ask me questions about the way forward and, together, we will start to identify goals and challenges you would like to focus on during therapy.

When I first started counselling, I felt unable to cope.  Now I feel much better and I know what I need to do. Thank you. Anna

It is not always obvious how many sessions you will need to feel better. To begin with I would usually offer you 6 sessions. However, this is entirely up to you and I am happy to be led by you. After these sessions, you may feel you have done enough work for now, or you may wish to continue.

Location

I work from rooms in Whitstable. I also offer phone and video counselling.

Sessions

Each session would last 50 minutes and we would work towards having appointments at a the same time on a weekly basis.

Fees

My fee is £45 an appointment.

Depending on availability, I may be able to offer you a reduced fee if you are on a low income or unemployed. Please contact me to discuss further.
